which I know, technically it isn't a bourbon, it's a Tenessee whiskey, but they pass it through charcoal filters to take on the bourbon flavor. The only competing bourbon at that level is Jim Beam, and it is a poor excuse for bourbon. Now I love to have a glass of Basil Hayden's or Blanton's on the rocks every now and then, just not as a party beverage
I've been through bourbon tasting with Wild Turkey's head distiller in a small private group at a brewery I worked for, and that was quite the experience. especially when I had to call for a ride home at 1:30 in the afternoon

Maker's Mark with 4 ice cubes (no more, no less) and a few dashes of Angostura bitters. Yum! I'm even an "official" Maker's Mark Ambassador and somewhere there is a barrel of bourbon with my name on it... literally!
