KMAC Question:
Pardon teh ignorance, but if I install my new KWs now (They just arrived!), and order KMACs later (few weeks from now), how hard is it to install the camber plates? Do you have to take the coilovers all the way off, or can you install them at the strut tower without taking everything apart?
I don't want to have to do the deed twice, or pay twice the labor charges (if I decide not to attempt the install myself).
TIA.

These Kmacs you descibe...>
Do not go on the front! They're eccentric bushings for the REAR control arms. You won't have to take much apart to do them later...

Okay, so I can install the coilovers this week, then install a full KMAC set a few weeks later
without much work?
Good. I thought I'd have to take the whole rear suspension apart.

Bought them earlier this year and got them installed in August
I think a couple of other folks on VWVortex are running them too. When I ordered them, they used to be below $300 ($299?!) when Shox.com first listed them on their site around December last year. For some reason (probably low volume and shipping costs), Shox.com upped the price to $359 shortly after that.
Pics of the plates in the box:

Since it's getting colder, the plates are starting to squeak a bit more. There was some redrilling (one per side) necessary due to the strut brace, although I think using them on MKIV VWs requires much more drilling/cutting. Since the plates sit flush, they should hold up ok. I am still in wait-and-see mode though to see if they will last (note: I use my car mostly on weekends these days and do more autox instead of track events).
ArTT Vandelay has the 2Bennett plates which are a good option if you overlook the price (~$600). They look stronger and may hold up better over time if the car is driven daily and tracked:

Oh, I think we were able to set them (edit: my KMAC kit) up to a little over 3 degrees of negative camber. They're at -2.5 right now.

Re: Ignoring price, which would you buy now?
I think I'm out of date on the 2Bennett kit price. It looks like it's now $499 instead of $599.
Ignoring price...hehe...between the two, probably the 2Bennett kit since I don't drive the car that often anyway and it was already a fairly loud ride (rattles and cupped tires) prior to the kit.
I saw the pic of your MINI autoxing in your picposter. Are you going to autox your TTQR too? You probably know that KMAC also offers a front camber kit for the MINI. The TT kit is similar.
But there are other kits from Ground Control and Stasis Engineering that are coming into the market that I would probably look into first to see if they'd work on a TT, how they'd be installed, how adjustable they are, and if they are street kits or racing camber plates.

<a href="http://www.stasisengineering.com/" target="_new">http://www.stasisengineering.com/</a> (call/email)
Also, I believe the 2Bennett kit (as a racing kit instead of a street kit like the KMAC) requires more drilling than the KMAC kit, in case that has an affect on a decision. I should still be able to go back to stock if needed...but why would I want to?!
