hello there my audi tt 2001 225 makes a funny noise on start up what i mean by funny noise is like a knocking noise for the best part of 3 seconds on a very cold start then once warm it will always do it but for about 1 and a half seconds its a pain sounds like a diesel at first oil presure ect is fine altho 1 other problem feels like its lacking boost dont no if this has some thing to do with it ? once started tho noise goes away and boost plays up every now and then :/ cheers craig .......please help

Which end of the motor is it coming from?

The passenger side is timing belt and tensioner related, the drivers side is cam chain tensioner.

How old is the timing belt and pump? Should have been changed at least once by now.

If either of these fail you will potentially have a scrap cylinder head or an entire motor.
