Always? One or two knocks from a start? Could be strut bearing.

Default Just started hearing it today.... (more inside)

I hear it only in 1st gear but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen in 2nd or 3rd (the VTDA growl might drown out the sound.)

It knocks/pops once when start moving and then again right after letting off the gas and the engine slows the car down. Its in time with the front picking up during acceleration and the front dropping down with decceleration.

Hmmmm... perplexing.

Car has 80K on it and I doubt strut bushing bearings have been replaced. I'm 3rd owner so I have no idea.

One of the previous owners did various things to the car but i'm not sure what I only know that there is no airbag stickers on visors and it was vag-commed so the windows drop with the key fob.

Default Almost sounds like>>>>

a dogbone bushing gone bad......if you notice it on acceleration and compression, it is very possible that could be it...

If it is the dogbone..it is easily fixed and no more than 40$ max.....

Default Are you talking about the pendulum mount?

Mine does this and I have the VF Engineering mount.
