Known problems with the TT

Would there be some way on the forum to monitor known problems that keep coming up. I'm talking about a list of problems like faulty instrument clusters, transmission problems, short circuits, etc. Each owner having one of these could send in a report and a tally could be kept. Then if an owner has a problem it would be easy to find the problem. Also if something keeps recurring we could also forward this to Audi. (I hope they are monitoring repair statistics though)

I emailed Audi USA and detailed the problems that I've read about here, because frankly, I am getting concerned. Don't know how long they'll take to respond, if they do, but they answered me quickly when I was asking about adding an option to my ordered (actually, allocated) TT. I'll post their response here when I hear from them.

I'm contemplating purchasing a TT in the United Kingdom. I would love to know the pros and cons of the car, what others have considered as an alternative - Porsche Boxster, BMW Z3, TVR Chimera etc and why the TT wins? Also value for money and running costs. Thanks.

A couple of months ago, (when my TT was still new), I put together a TT FAQ which is linked below. The last few weeks, my ambition (sp?) has fallen off, so it hasn't been updated lately. There is a section on owner reported problems, but more input is required. If you have had a problem, e-mail it to me and I can add it to the page.
Also, if you have any other info that is missing, send that too!
Happy MoTToring!
Ed

Club TT

Audi requires us to send in a full report on any repairs being performed on TT's as well as doing a manual warranty claim instead of an automated claim like all other models use. This way Audi keeps up with the new products on every repair to monitor quality and to have a data base that has been viewed by everyone in the tech department to help with any problems the dealers come up with. With the TT being the new model - we report all info to Audi.
