Default Thanks, credit goes to Bob aka ZGTT. now a question . . .

Can you describe what exactly the problem is? Other than the CEL coming on.

It sounds as though the dealer sees an error code, blames the Forge DV, replaces with an OEM 'N', charges you $$. You are sent on your way, then 25 miles later the CEL comes back on. So far am I correct?

If a a legitimate error code is being thrown then the CEL should not reset itself because the problem would just keep throwing the CEL.

Describe the symptoms and someone should be able to figure this out.
Wait a minute . . . are you 100% certain they said P1128? This is what that P-code means:

DTC: 17536
P-Code: P1128
Description:
Long Term Fuel Trim mult., Bank 1 System too Lean.

This was a misdiagnosis if the P-Code is accurate! Call the dealer up ASAP and start asking questions.

Default Jim, sound like the dealer didn't actually do their job. they misdiagnosed the error code! lol

DTC: 17536
P-Code: P1128
Description:
Long Term Fuel Trim mult., Bank 1 System too Lean.

He said they gave him a P-Code of P1128, the above is what that code is.

It can't be the Forge if the new DV they put in "failed" as well within 25 miles.

Default error code correct. . .

Yes they said that a trim fuel situation indicator is associated with DV probs. They did not put stock valve back in. I'm waiting to put replacement new forge valve in this afternoon. Pete will look at the old forge valve that I send back to him.

I don't really have any symptoms other than indicator light.

Default Which Forge do you have? The one with the 6 allen screws?

Open it up and check it out. If you have another DV, even a bad stock one, put it in as well.

I don't buy the DV having anything to do with that error code. Sounds like they saw the Forge and just passed the blame.

You are right, BTW that code is often thrown when the MAFS is going south.

Default I have the larger older one and will soon have the new one...

I'm not very mechanically inclined or interested in playing with it too much. Swapping the new for the old forge this afternoon will max out my talents!

Default I could be wrong....but read again, Lar. He didn't say dealer replaced DV...just "reset" VAG codes.

Reads to me like dealer left the bad Forge in....or it was a poor explanation by WGJ.
