Default Kuhmo vs Bridgestone vs Yokahama HELP!!!

Priced out Kumho supra 712 @574.o8 (four) Balanced , tax etc..... Re730@792.80 , Yoka avs sport @873.36 . Seems like that reading the owner feedback from Tire Rack that the Yoka is a much better tire . I dont drive 140mph but do go around corners fast and it does rain a lot here. Is worth the extra $ for the Bridgestones or the Yokas? I drive around 10000 miles per year. Any feedback from actual buyers would be appreciated.

Default I would compare either Bridgestone S03s or the Yoks the

Kuhmos are not rated as good as these tires...their price reflects this. THe re730 doesnt compare to the S03 or S02, I havent driven on the Yoks but have used tons of the Yoks in the past...Ive heard its a good tire that gets alittle noisy...but so does the S02

Default My 2 cents

I am not looking at any of the tires you listed, but I am 100% set on the Bridgestone SO-3's. I had SO-2' on our NSX and they are great. Personally I liked my RE040's, I thought they were a capable tire, not the best, not the worst. I still have tread on mine, after 36,000 miles (6,000 are on winter tires), and have not had one bubble. I had 3 repaired, but so far have held up very well. I give Bridgestone two thumbs up.

Default Kumhos..

They have received my seal of approval.. Main purpose is for Auto-x but I did use them on the street for a couple of weeks and they were awesome.. They are beyond amazing in the rain.. And for the price, they can't be beat..

Default Got the AVSs

They're much squarer than the others (especially the Re730s) so the contact patch is larger; they also have a curb bumper on the outer sidewall to protect your wheels a little. They are quiet and perform great on the dry - mine doesn't go out in the rain but reviews say they excel in the rain. The tread pattern is very contemporary so they have that cool factor if that's what you want. Love mine.

Default Re: Kuhmo vs Bridgestone vs Yokahama HELP!!!

I paid $104 each for the Kumhos at Tire Rack, and I am very happy with them. Don't think you can find a better ultra-high performance tire for anywhere near $100 per tire.

Default Comparing apples with...

You can't really compare a $574 tire with a $874 tire....
I just bought the Kumhos and I am happy with them, although their traction is not as good as the stock Re-040 (obviously, since they cost twice as much and wear out faster).
According to a TireRack representative, the 730s become very loud after a while. If that doesn't bother you, at a higher price level than the Kumhos, they have a very good reputation.
I don't know about the AVS, but, if you want a high-end tire, the S-03 seem to get excellent reviews.

Default Do you track your car?

If you don't the kuhmo are just fine. After having said that, even if you track your car the kuhmo would be ok too. The S03, AVS sport are over-kill for road driving. Why pay more and settle for the hi-tire wear if you won't even touch the limit of those tires.

And yes, I run the kuhmo on my S4.
