Default LarryTT... quick Qs?

I am thinking of going with the AWE/Garrett chip, but I think I will hold on the
Borla exhaust.
How many miles do u have on yr car with the chip (stage I and II), any problems?

Also, did they have to solder the borla or was it just a plug and play job?

Would you recommend the chip even if I'm not going to get the exhaust?
Any heat related issues (overheating, etc)?

Thanks for taking the time,
Alex
2000 Audi TT 180hp Coupé (Blue)

Default Here you go . . .

I have about 12-15,000 miles on my Garrett Chips. I would need to check my records if you want an EXACT mileage number

An exhaust would not get soldered, it would get welded. That is not needed. It is just two clamps, one is the factory clamp the other is a clamp that comes with the exhaust.

If you are not getting the exhaust (any exhaust), then you will be getting the Stage I chip. The stage II requires an exhaust.

I would highly recommend the chip even as a stand-alone, but you are better off getting the two of them, either together or pretty close to each other.

Each part will allow the engine to run cooler, but the exhaust has a larger impact on this. An exhaust allows the turbo to expel hot gases faster.

I have not had any problems with either the chip or exhaust.

Default I did the Garrett stage II chip first, and then did the Borla two months later (more)

And now that I have had the Borla on a few weeks, I have noticed a signifigant improvement. The two were really made to go together, my 180TTQ performs more smoothly now, it was a little 'jumpy' with just the chip.

I wished I would have done both at the same time.
2000 180CQ D.Blue/Ebony - MII mod

Default I had arranged a group buy with Jenner back in Feb. . . .

we had a local Borla dist. in CT arrange it for us. I have heard that a guy in CO has relaly good prices, but I don't know his name or tel #. Sorry

I don't know if the Borla kit is out for the 225 as of yet. Give Borla a call and ask them for the name of their Dist in CO.
