last question for the night...thoughts on roadster for a daily driver - even in the winter
our second car is an A4 and no kids, so hauling things isn't a big concern. I'm just wondering if it will be too cold for her to drive during the winter. any thoughts from real world experiences are appreciated.

I live in Denver with an '03 roadster for my daily driver.
No problems with cold weather. Car gets through some stuff much better than bigger things. I just get worried when one of the bigger things tries to squish me...mainly semi's.

I live(d) in NH / NY / PA and I've never been cold in my roadster....
Car has excellent heat and with seat warmers as well I normally find myself turning the heat down.

I agree with BBsTT. The quattro roadster was just fine for 5 Colorado Winters.

Just be sure to purchase, and install, four snow tires for winter use. I made it through all kinds of inclement weather while monster SUVs were laying on their sides in ditches.
The interior warms up quickly, and with the heated seats I usually drove without a jacket to the mountains to snowboard. This photo is at about 8000ft elevation, and yes we drove there with the top down, in April.
If the thickness of the top is a concern, you can purchase an aftermarket liner from Stratmosphere, although I don't really think that it is necessary
Of course, I live in South Carolina now, so a heavy snowfall around here happens once each winter and equals 1.5 inches of snow!
Hey, wanna buy four gently used rims to mount the snow tires on?
