Default Lateral Acceleration Sensor

Could a failing lateral acceleration sensor cause my rear wheels not to kick in when my front slip? I've been spinning my front tires way more than I should be able to lately, especially when accelerating through a turn. For a while I had my ESP/ABS lights on ocassionally, now they're always on. The code I got was something to the effect of "Implausible signal from lateral acceleration sensor."

Thanks!

Default It won't keep your haldex from kicking in, but...

it will keep the ESP(traction control) from functioning which will allow you to spin more. Sounds like you need a new lateral acceleration sensor.

Default This is deifnitley more than just the ESP being off...

I turn the ESP off everytime I get in my car, and this is WAY more spinning than I should be getting. I've spun them all the way through first, but it only happens every once in a while, usually it's fine.

Default Well you have a code, your ESP and ABS lights are on, don't ya think that's a good place to start?

It's kinda hard to troubleshoot issues like this when you already have known issues. Fix the problems you know you have and then if it's still an issue revisit the excessive spinning.

Default i have been having the same problem on occasion...

the ESP/ABS lights come on every couple weeks for a few days in a row, then go away. i can defintitely feel the wheel spin. from searching and responses on the forum, it is probably either the longitudinal or lateral acceleration sensor for me... haven't gotten around to dealing with it yet though.

Default "triple sensor, special for your year, blah, blah, + labor = $900. Audi wins the big bird here.

"Oh, and after we're done, that may not solve the problem"
