I've been travelling, but a scan of the last few days indicates this hasn't been brought up.

The article goes through everything discussed at length here regarding the retrofits blah blah blah. The last paragraph: "When the 2001 TT Coupes and TT Roadsters arrive, they will be equipped with the electronic stability system, Hunt said." End of quote, end of article.

I then called my dealer and he said Hunt's quote was what they were going by. It was also confirmed that my 1st allocation 225Q was "in production" and that it was definately a 2001 model per the factory. Ergo ....

I feel confident that as of a month or so ago, 2001 U.S. bound TTs would not have ESP installed until week 18. However, Audi's tone has changed substantially during the past 2 weeks, and things change. So now I don't think that we will know for certain until the cars actually arrive. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

I agree. It is very possible that things have changed. I hope so anyway, as most want the ESP.
