Default Can you explain the concept of the ET offsets, what measurement is this... and why should I get the

others if I have a BBK? I thought offset would act as a spacer, bringing the wheel in and out from the hub, why does this matter if I have a BBK or not? If the ET25 fits perfectly in front, wouldn't an ET40 stick out really far from the fender?

ET in German = Einpress Tiefe meaning "push in depth"

Default it's reversed, ET40 would be farther in than ET25

Perhaps this diagram will help:

The thing to keep in mind is that the hub distance to fender doesn't change.

You would need a 15mm spacer with the ET40 wheel to make the edge of the wheel sit the same distance from the fender as with an ET25 wheel. Having this spacer allows you to clear a big caliper as the spokes of the wheel would be farther away from the hub.

so the sizes are sorta' reversed like gauge for wire sizes where a larger number is a smaller wire?

Default If you decide on a BBK, ET25 will not work with most calipers.

I have ET25 BBS LMs and porsche 993T monobloc calipers and with that offset, i need 15mm spacers to clear the huge calipers and the tire sticks out of the wheel well.

so it looks like I need to find the smallest caliper available (wilwood) and have to replace my BBK. I'm not too happy about that, since I like the Porsche calipers alot.
