Default For Levent and HACK_THS: me going 130 mph

sorry for the poor quality of the picture... This is actually extracted from a video.
Needless to say, it was awesome... You take one step out of the plane and suddenly all your worries don't count anymore. If you're not scared of doing it, I definitely recommend trying... If you're in the Chicagoland area, let me know and we'll go together next time. Skydive Chicago is a great club.

Default Wow, cool. I have my daughter's video of her first jump...how

the heck do you get it from video to the net...probably beyond my capabilities. Will never forget that day...told her, "don't call until you land, safe and sound." She called right when we were having a TT picnic..she was screaming and I thought something was wrong...NOT, she was screaming because she had just landed and was so excited by it. Good for you. Maybe, I'll do that this year...looks like so much fun.

It's not the hurling towards the earth @130mph> It's the possibility of an abrupt stop!!!

Default yup, it's really exciting. i was pretty hyper after my first jump too! :)

You should try it - if you're not totally terrified of doing it, it's really worth a try. Let me know when you do and how it was!

Default normally yes, but saturday it was 62 degrees here.

The hardcore guys do it year round - you dress like you're going skiing and put your jumpsuit over it. With a mask it's not that bad...
Honestly, when you're freefalling you're not aware of anything else than the feeling of flying. You may be cold in the plane but during the flight you don't feel a thing.
This said, it's a lot more fun when it's nice out. Plus, you spend a lot of time on the ground waiting for your load and chatting with people... so it make the day a lot better when it's warm.
During the summer I'm going to try spending a couple of weekends there - biking is great and there's really good canoeing too (it's at the junction of the Fox river and the Illinois River).
