Default That section of the uphill esses at VIR is very "toss and catch" You get very light at each

transition from left to right then you dig hard and set yourself up for the next turn. The spots where you get light, which is where this guy F*'d up, is a very bad place to try to change your line. Lifting, or a change in steering angle while you are light can cause some real problems when you come back down and get traction again.

It's mostly a maintenance throttle area, until the last turn where you're pretty much back into full throttle. But you have to have the wheel straight when you "land" then make the turn.

Default Could see that coming a mile away. There are too many guys that attend track days that have

mad money and limited or no skillz. Unfortunate.

Default how was your track day?

Sorry I didn't make it out to take pics... I went out and tested the new rear control arm bushings and then the weather got crappy.

Default Ran out of HP, brakes, and tiars. Had to do a little "Rodeo Style" driving to slow

the car. Besides that, fine. 2 996's expired, but all rice survived.

Default Yup. I learned the hard way. It was probably my 4th time at Sears with NASA and by then I thought

I was a hot shot so I was in group 3 (advanced). My lesson learned was look further ahead, plan ahead and be humble. I love Sears though, probably my fav tracks over Laguna. I've been there about 8 times now. Although the only time I've driven the new configuration was on a parade lap with our TT. They since moved that mountain on 8 and 9 further out.

Default Sears is definitely my favorite track and i've had my share of butt clinching through 8 to 9

especially when this idiot in an S8 decided to slow down and give me a point by as I crested the hill out of the esses - I got black flagged for an illegal pass - but no way was I going to slow down and not go around. My instructor encouraged the pass and took all the heat - they should have also black flagged the idiot in the S8.........

Default What is worse is he had an instructor in his car with him! My instructor was livid and

was flipping him off as he wouldn't let me pass in the passing zones and then pulls that stunt. Needless to say - they should have booted the instructor and the student...

Unfortunate truth. Although I'd pay twice as much for a guaranteed "idiot free" day.
