Hey Jim, thanks for the reply.. A few weeks ago I had to
re-torque my wheel bolts to spec.. Apparently the shop that removed my wheels last thought the tighter the better.. I don't have a great feel for my own applied torque but I do know that whatever they used it was way over 89ft-lbs.. Im definitely going to try and get a feel for how much torque Im applying through the use of a torque wrench.. Thanks for the advice..

Once I got a car back from a shop (warranty work) and like always retorqued the lug bolts.
..It took so much force to break the first one loose that I got my largest torque wrench and set it to the max and it was clicking out and the bolts still were not turning. This is bad, and I assume they used a big *** air tool set to the highest force range to put them on. I never use air wenches on wheel lugs, if you are going to cross thread or over torque that is how to do it. The other issue is uneven torque can cause the brake rotor to warp.
