Default Listen to me hate on H&R 10mm spacers....

The new SSR GT7 19x8 wheels rub the front wheel liner during full turns with 15mm H&R spacers mounted....

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/77447/right-rubbage.jpg">

So, today I tried to install a set of H&amp;R 10mm spacers, but failed. Mounting these spacers would require MAJOR machining of the SSR centering ring in order for spacer to mount flush to the back of the rim.
How does this work?

H&amp;R really screwed up IMHO. The hub OD tapers from 57mm to 70mm. Why would anyone design a spacer with a tapered centering hub?
It can only properly fit a matching tapered centering ring. Of course, H&amp;R does not supply one. I wonder if anyone even makes them?

The SSR centering ring ID = 57mm (matches OEM hub) and OD = 72mm. If the ring was machined (forget a hand-held dremel tool) to fit the H&amp;R hub, there would only be 2 or 3 mm of ring material left.

The H&amp;R 15mm spacers have normal 57mm hubs. No problem using them with the SSR centering ring. Ditto for their 20mm spacers, which are on the rears. Here are the 10mm and 15mm spacers, side by side.
STOOOPID design vs. good design....

I thought of deleting the centering ring all together, but this is probably asking for trouble. The 15mm spacer is going back on for now.

Anyone know a source for different size centering rings that will match this application? If not, these 10mm H&amp;R spacers will be returned to ECS later this week.

Default Ouch, sorry you found out the hard way..

It's been a long known problem. 8mm w/lip, 10m, and 12mm spacers from H&amp;R generally only work with factory OEM wheels.

We wrote up an article about the fitment issues here, albeit a little late for you. You can fit the 8mm spacers without the lips, and you'll be fine, if 8mm is enough for you.

Default Not the same as the H&R spacers I use, which accepted a hub-centric ring and VOILA!

Not using OEM wheels either.

Default It says right there on ECS's website under the description 'for OEM wheels only'

Send them back to ECS and trade them for ECS brand 10mm spacers. I have these with my SSR GT7s and they work beautifully.
