Default little help please..

driving home today doing about 80 on the highway the gauges on my cluster all go to zero like the car shutoff and and the car felt like it had shutoff too and then immediately afterwards it all went back to normal. i have had misfire codes also, just replaced the plugs and gapped them correctly. my misfire only happens under high boost. so i am thinking that it is the coilpacks going. i have a 2000 180 qc with 45,XXX mi. any clue to why the car shutdown and should i replace the coilpacks or is it something else that is causeing the missfire? thanks in advance for the help.

Default Hope this helps...........

Several years ago while driving in the mountains I found my gauges would all drop to zero as I went down a hill and would all come back to life, and radar detector cycling from off to on, each time. Battery was only a month old, but had failed.

Everytime I went down the hill, the car was shutting off and when up the hill it was like rolling the car off and started the car.

Battery failed almost all of a sudden.

Battery or crap on a post. Could be a loose ground.

Default the car wouldn't completely shut off if they were coilpack errors...sounds like an ECU

issue to me. had that happen to me as well...i turned the key off (while coasting) and turned it back on and started back up. but eventually, the ECU was toast. found some loose solder joints on an APR chip install was the culprit. the 2-3 jumpers that they added finally gave way and shorted something else out (from what it seemed). looked at the inards and the ECU was shot. had to get another one from the dealer and recode everything.
