Default Local Audi Dealership is hiring assistant service consultant>>>

Yes... the same dealership that ignored me the other day is hiring. Right now i'm working for a friend (the village inn guy) plus other misc stuff.

Should I go for it? The only experience they listed... good organizational skills, people skills, and 21 or older. They dont list automotive skills or knowledge as being needed, but what I dont know already, I learn real quick.

Pro's/Con's of working for the dealership your going to order your TT from??

Anyone know what an assistant service consultant job pays? I always love working with cars (specially ones I love) Boyfriend seems to think jobs like that start at 7-8 an hour...

I can name one con already... A guy I did some website work with, ALSO works there as the detail boy (now thats a scary thought... I already vow never to let him touch my car) This guy screwed me over royally on the work. Basically he got into a site deal and didnt know a lick of html or design. He hired me to 'teach' him... but I ended up doing the entire 70 page site. The original deal with the client was 4k for the work done. In the end... I did all the work, and only got 1k out of it while he took the rest of the money and ran. Not only that he told everyone that he did all the work.

My other prospect is a real estate photographer for online real estate showcases. No clue how much it pays or how much work you get. Sounds fun as well.

so whatcha think?? yeah or nay?

Probably pays better than the real estate gig....locals asked me to recommend photog once...they were paying minimum or contract that was below minimum.

Ask stevesTT about it, or go for it! You could probably help give dealership some credibility

Doesn't cost you anything to talk to them... do it.

Default Have to listen to people b***h about their cars...

Remember, as the service consultant, not only will you be the one that has to write up the "car makes a funny noise" tickets, you unfortunately will also be the one that gets yelled at when the mechanics pull some bonehead maneuver and claim "couldn't reproduce" for something that's a three-step problem like the lock/light thing, or they get grease all over the seats...

Just a little fair warning...

Default cake.... I'd much rather deal with that than>>

the third option (forgot to mention) of working at an ISP trying to diagnos puter and internet problems over the phone when the person who called in thinks the 'any key' actually exists!

I've had plenty of problems myself with service techs... they never call back... forget to mention the part your waiting on is on backorder... etc etc

I'd like to be a different kind of service tech... one that actually does what she promises!!

I agree. You like people. You like cars (a lot I think). This sounds pretty good.

Default Go for it...

Worst case is they don't hire you...non-event, move on.

Best case? Who knows? When people combine their passion with their profession...good things usually happen. Look at Jason...hell, we all envy him!
