After I installed the bracket/hangar, I decided not to force the center pipe stem into the new hangar. Seems that it lifted the pipe high enough right against the side of the heat shield pipe well which would've resulted in rattling for sure. It wouldn't have been a problem if the center pipe was aligned properly in relation to the pipe well underneath the car. The pipe hangs off-center in relation to the well.
Hope you have better luck.

It's a bit unnerving to see so much span between the stock hangar and the cat, but that's how the stock pipe was meant to survive. I don't know if the extra hangar is truly necessary. If you can get it to fit properly, I still think it's a good idea.

Install without, but it is highly recommended. The Miltek joint will "creep". The center hanger and Band clamps from Borla.com will insure a bulletproof install. These can be added later if you're anxious to get it on!

and holding up the new muffler for about a minute while I reattached the hanger brackets to the rear. :-)
It's a complete do-it-yourself project. You could really do it all yourself assuming you don't mind the exhaust sitting on your stomach for a few minutes while you're under the car.
Oh, and I lived dangerously... used jack stands. Haha!
