I know at times I get a little overzealous about these machines, making them out to be bigger, better, and faster than they really are. Here's a little look into why...
I don't think I've ever told you guys how I first saw the TT, which became my dream-car, and remains so today. It was, give or take, 8 or 9 years ago (probably 1997 I think) when I first saw the TT. I was watching a television program about cars (something like Top Gear I think) and I was, as most 13 year old boys do, drooling over the various super-cars they flashed onto the screen. I recognized the logos of the cars and the brand names... Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bugatti, Porsche... etc... but then they showed something completely alien to me.
I'd never heard of an Audi, nor di I have any idea what one looked like. But when they panned across the four-rings and out to full-frame the most stunning vehicle design I'd ever seen, I was hooked. As a lover of great design, quality, and simplicity even at that age (I've been an artist of sorts since I can remember), everything about the car was astonishing. The interior was so far beyond anything I'd ever seen... like a space capsule, the exterior so outlandish compared to everything else that I didn't even know what to make of it.
They drove it around and reviewed the car, saying how revolutionary the design was and how it was unlike anything they'd ever seen before. Even the Audi symbol, in it's symplicity, and symetry grabbed my attention. The lasting image I have of it was the TT (roadster) perched on a green hill near a test track from a low angle shot. Like a technological beast on the horizon.
When I first laid eyes on "my" TT, my salesman (Peter Ansalmo @ Audi of Alexandria) asked "Is it what you were looking for"? I just said "It's perfect." It sat there right outside the doors in the night. Polished up. Gleaming in the dealership lights. Exactly the one I was looking for. Dolomite Grey, Aviator Napa leather interior, Premium package, 18" wheels, etc... I was in love.
I feel lucky that my dream car was an attainable goal for me and I hope that it can be for everyone else. I love how even after 2 years + of ownership, I still get a grin on my face every time I look at it.

The only details we worry about are the car details.
Last summer when I started looking for a new car and realized I might be able to get my dream car of the TT I started researching on the internet. I downloaded information and pictures, anything I could find. Then when going through my pictures I realized I had some that I saved from 1999 when I first dreamed about owning this car. Was good to know that 5 years later I still felt the same desire. And now that I've owned it for 9 months the desire doesn't subside, it grows with every day and every mod.

It was about 7 years for me from when I first saw it to when I bought it. And more than two years since that. And I wouldn't trade it for anything short of a Le Mans Quattro, Gallardo, or Veyron. (which won't be happening anytime soon for me
