Default Lug bolt remover question...

Yesterday I was finally going to put on the snow tires. One of the bolts was apparently tightened with an impact wrench (some moron) so it started to strip when using the OEM 17mm tire tool. Sprayed inside only with WD-40 and went to 17mm socket wrench which started to strip as well. This is not the standard OEM lug bolt, but the thinner one that accepts the lock (pic). Which bolt removal kit is the best to use with a breaker bar? So far I've seen Craftsman and Irwin.

Default "bolt removal kit" ?? what is the size of the head? You sure it's 17mm? A good socket should not...

on the head.
Make sure you have a clean mate bet. socket and bolt head.

The thinner walls of this non-OEM hollow bolt seem to be deforming

Definitely 17mm. Should I hammer on a 21/32 and take a chance?

First , take a 17mm socket and a small sledge hammer(I know this sounds bad) and hit the end of the socket to loosen the threads. You need to use a 6 pt socket and then try and break it loose wt a breaker bar. Does not work all the time , but a good portion of it. Other then that , its time to get the drill out(even thats not that bad).
