<center><img src="http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/5091/mafji6.jpg"></center><p>NOTE - This is not the new MAF
This is my 2nd or 3rd MAF I've purchased for the car in 4 years. But the one I had on the car when I purchased it lasted the longest. This one, I can't remember where I purchased it from, but long-story-short, it didn't last. And I damn sure didn't get it from a dealer.
So i decided to get a genuine audi part in hopes that it would last much longer than the OE replacement parts that are passed off as real. OK, Just got my "OEM" MAF from Genuine Audi parts.
Notice the two prongs that have nothing attached to them. According to the faq, that is where the temperature sensor is supposed to be. The MAF i just purchased does not have that sensor, and neither did the last one i purchased. BUT the one that came on the car from the dealer when i purchased it, DID have that sensor.
My question: is there anyone out there who owns a "dealer supplied" MAF who can confirm for me that the sensor should be on there or not?
I understand that parts change over years, cool. But this is my only way to know whether the MAF i purchased was a REAL Audi part or just a replacement part.
If someone out there knows another way to tell the difference (OEM vs OE) please let me know.

Sensor not needed...>>
It's a thermistor actually and is not implemented on our cars (No plug connection). Makes no difference if it's there or not. Back in the day when we were using the 461A VW MAF's cause they were cheap they had the thermistor...
From my old collection....:-)

thanks. Cool. Whether it's used or not was not really my concern. I was moreso...
concerned with it being a GENUINE audi part and that's the only difference i could between what came on the car when I bought it, and what it's looked like from other companies...I just want it to last damnit!

It is a stamp, and not a switch.......MAF's are sealed and non tunable>>>
unless you go with a MAF interceptor that adjusts fuel delivery.......which i did. Unfortunately the car adapts to the settings and renders it fairly useless....
