Default ok. Riddle me this Mr Modshack... I had adaptions of 6 & 8 (032)...

whether they were positive or negative, i can't recall at the time...but after putting in my New MAF, they went to like 8 & 12 giving me a DTC but CEL. (again, one was negative, i just can't remember)
What gives...i have brand new O2 and MAF in there...

Default Well...>>>

Positive and Negative matters a lot. + is a lean correction and minus is a rich correction. Once things get whacked to +/- 10% there is something amiss. Normal adaptations will range +/- 5%. Either + or - can be MAF related. + can also reflect a Vac leak. - is usually a MAF..

What kind of new MAF? Is it the correct one for your car? 180's take 2 different ones, 225's depending on year can use 3 different part numbers....The output characteristics are different for each. The 180 is particularly susceptible to not running right if you put the wrong one in there

Default Re: Well...>>>

I think the second number was usually negative and the first positive. I was getting a rich code
p1137. I'm really confused at this point. As I said, it went from 6 & -9, to like 9 & -12 with one drive, then, i checked it again after a 2 mile drive...and it was 6 & -8
so there's a rapid change in this number. I always though this occurred over time...The numbers are under the 10% threshold, but are still abnormal.
Ehh, thanks for all your help, but at this point, as long as I'm not getting a CEL,...I'm through.
Hopefully, I wont be back about this...Now I got to research this 1287 N249 Open Circuit code that came outta nowhere...
thanks again
