MAF or No MAF?
My thrid MAF died couple days ago. Turned on the ESP light and Engine light. Anyways it was the MAF. But my car worked better then ever while it was messed up. I mean it pulled hard! I just installed the new MAF (this time i tried a VW 2.0 MAF) reset VAG codes it seems a little different not as powerful as the broken MAF, about the same as when my old MAF was working Ive only put about 10 miles on it so far.
My question is can I just unplug the MAF and drive with the enigne light and ESP on always?
And if the ESP light is on, does that mean track control is off always?

How do you know your old MAF was bad?
Are you over-oiling that P-Flow? The generally don't fail with that frequency. Did you do a G/Sec log to check max output? Checked block 32 to look at the fuel adaptation? ESP light isn't always a MAF...Seemed you had an ECU fault as I recall...Also a lean code could be a Vac leak, 02 sensor etc....The answer isn't ALWAYS Maf...:-)
I'm sure Mr Bosch appreciates the business though...

I know cuz>>>
I did measure the old MAF it was pulling 0.22 GS which equals bad MAF. I have a stainless steal filter no oil at all.
The ESP code was telling me to check fault codes IE look at the engine code. Right when I cleared the signal to MAF to low the ESP code cleared itself. I searched on the ESP code on this forum many others have had the same issue with bad MAFs.
