Default Magnetic Ride is THE coolest thing!

Just went to Audi training for the TT and R8. The Magnetic Ride is really great and I'd love to have it on my car. The aftermarket will have to add this. in 1/1000 of a sec. you go from soft smooth valving to stiff (or what ever level is built in by the mfr). there is a button on the TT but it's already working with out it. it uses steering imput (like ESP) in terms of degree of steering angle AND speed of imput to turn on the stiff setting. like when a kid darts out in front. it's basically like having a bunch of ball bearings floating in your shock fluid and when the magnet is attached, it puts these bearings in a string so it's harder to get them thru the valves.........hence a stiffer ride. go check it out!

Default Hate to pour cold water but...

GM has this too, does anyonen know if they've been able to make it reliable? I know if GM can't then Audi won't either... I'd be afraid it'll be one more 'wear' item that Audi won't cover under warantee.

Other than that real world stuff... I love the idea and hope it works as advertised.

Default GM's had it since 2002, Ferrari since last year...>>.>>

The Corvette guys rave about it.. No issues reported, and claimed to be a "life of the Car" (150K) system... I wouldn't poo-poo this, it's not new technology and hardly "iffy" if Ferrari has utilized it. Check the link I posted below. It is the answer to a lot of peoples suspension desires. If I were buying a TT, I'd spec it..

Correct. Z06, F430 and F599 use the same system.

Default Glad to hear of the success - I'm just negative on Audi b/c they can't spec a blinker or a glove box

How can I have confidence they'll be able to spec (or support) a gosh darn hi falutin new suspension system?
