Mazda Makes Good! Audi where are you?

While waiting for my car yesterday, I was reading one of the more well-known car magazines. Mazda was on the line for advertising their "Miata" as having 165 horsepower. It turned out some modifications were made after testing which reduced horsepower to 147.
Mazdas Answer; They offered a buy back on every affected vehicle at full purchase price. Each customer keeping their vehicle received a $500 Visa/Mastercard type debit card good anywhere in the world. Plus they agreed to service for free any such vehicle until all warranties were expired.
Yoohoo Audi, where are you??? Do you want repeat customers??? Mazda does!

Mazda made an honest mistake and they tried in their own way to make the best of a bad situation.
Audi, however, is still trying to deny their is a problem with the 180 trannys while shifting from first to second. They know that this grinding can and probably will cause long term damage to the transmissions on 180 H.P. TTs. That is why I traded to the 225 model.
Many others on this forum have reported this problem and Audi burries its head in the sand, always saying they couldn't reproduce the grinding
sound. Ugh! I don't want to be negative but I do feel it is deserved in this case. Honesty???
Policy??? I think I remember an old saying???

... hmmm ...
If all customers were like you more dealerships should produce defective products! It sounds like you are encouraging the practice. ;-)
Buying a more expensive car from the same manufacturer doesn't sound like a market-economy-practice.
Just having a little fun with your post... I know what you really meant.

..but unfortunately it's different than the Mazda situation. Mazda mis-stated HP claims & when called to the mat on it, fixed it.
However, Audi has made no claims that their 5 speed transmission works with out grinding, and no one (meaning the press) has called them on the mat about it so nothing will be done until the press see a 5 spd tranny problem as an issue (IMHO). Us (us=180 FWD 5Speed owners) bitching about it gets nowhere as we've seen over the last, oh, what 18 months?

I really do LOVE my TT.
I'm just a former Toyota owner that got used to six consecutive vehicles, (i.e. Camrys, Tacomas, Corollas, Rav-4s. Land Cruisers, etc.) with absolutely no defects at delivery or during warranty period. Exemplary quality and service.
Audi is generally a much pricier car than any of these.
