McDaniels Audi of Charleston refused to install my Konis.
They said that since I did not order the parts through them that they would be unable to install them. Looks like I won't be going out there anymore.

I agree. I thought that service dept labor was where dealerships made their living.
And this is apparently a 4 or 5 hour job, which you would think would be easy $$ for them...

The local dealership here won't touch aftermarket parts...
They won't do any installs or even repairs involving aftermarket components. They wouldn't even do my strut mounts and bearings because I had Konis.

If you can wait a week or so...
And are willing to drive up to Greenville SC ..I could install them for you....I have all the special tools and have done numerous suspension installs

I greatly appreciate that, Morio.
I just got off the phone with the shop I bought the car from. They deal exclusively in luxury imports (lots of Beamers, Mercedes, as well as Audis). Their service department manager/chief mechanic has an engineering degree and managed the local Mercedes dealership's service department for 15 years. They said they would have absolutely no problem doing it, so I made an appointment for next Monday morning. Thanks again very much for the offer, though!

no problem.... anytime you need help
I don't mind helping.... I did my timing belt, suspension, etc.. on my TT and I have done numerous engine swaps and basic restos on early watercooled volkswagens (mainly sciroccos)... I have most of the tools needed for the job and I have a friend who lets me access his shop if I need a lift...
