A lot of indie shops do this too (won't install user-provided parts)--
as a general rule, I think it makes sense. Nothing I hate worse than working on a car for a friend who brought me some parts he/she bought, only to find out halfway thru the job that the parts won't work. Much easier if I buy the parts myself.

Haven't heard anything good about them anyway. Any alternatives for a friend in Charleston? >
A big FU to Audi dealers that don't put the customer first, or think some of Audi's cost compromised factory crap parts are the ultimate. My purchasing dealer was happy to put an improved aftermarket suspension bought elsewhere in my TT before I ever picked it up new, and my current servicing dealer has helped me with many of my mods that I couldn't install myself.
