Default well you also have to consider that WE

would be more picky of course, as we are into this stuff....i mean, if my wife got me a beige leather seated Lexus as a christmas present i'd be PISSED! lol. If you take out your own perspective, and simply put a spouse-who-isn't-obsessed-with-cars perspective...it all changes a bit.

but i can only speak on behalf of my wife, when i say that i know the range of cars she likes (about 4 of 5 different cars) and i think if any of those showed up with a bow on them, she'd be pretty happy i think....and there are ways to find out about the colours y'know....if you're married, there are invisible requirements that we KNOW these sorts of things! haha

and like you said, if you were gonna get a car anyway (had decided to get it after christmas) then it's quite a nice surprise to have it given early, with all the decisions already made (they like that stuff don't they? whereas we wanna make those decisions!)....IMO

Default I agree... I made the mistake>>>

of surprising my wife with a new Passat several years back. She loved it (I included some Kate Spade handbags in the trunk and told her that it was the special "Kate Spade edition").

Anyway, after a while she didn't care for it since she's petite (5'2") and didn't feel comfortable in it - felt she had to sit too close to the steering wheel. She still liked the car just "wound't have gotten another one."

Lesson learned - I "surprised" her with the next car (Lexus RX) but had her test drive it first...

She's not a "car person..."
