Default MichaelTT: suggestions on using that scratch remover?

I have a few hairline scratches in the hood from various nasty things, and based on your suggestion last week I got some Scratch Remover. Any comments on how best to apply it? I'm a bit cautious about following the "rub in a circular pattern", since I go through all the trouble of only waxing and washing in straight lines.

Thanks. =)

Default the reason is that it fills in the hairlines more effectively, but i don't think it matters...

you create hairlines whenever you wash wax and dry your car, regardless of rub direction...
I understand that by rubbing it in straight pattern, you reduce their visibility to fewer angles, however they're still visible.

my suggestion is not to get into the pattern of remedying hairline problems by creating more with scratch removers...like I said, whenever towel your car in ANY way (even with supposedly "safe" towels like microtowels, chamois, synthetic, or even sponge).

my explanation, if you opt to read it:

As you wash or dry, you rub the dirt which you wipe off across the surface, and therefore giving it hairlines, created by the larger particles. Once the car is dry, and you start waxing or using any other product that requires fairly close rubbing, you dislodge the embedded particles which also do more scratching.. All this on top of the fact that any towel or sponge is actually scratching your car too...

Hairlines can't be prevented, unless you never wipe your car with anything period, but then it will never be clean... By temporarily fixing them with scratch remover, in the long run, you're actually doing more damage to your car with the additional rubbing.

Default Agree with Mozzi re the every day going to happen 'hairlines' but the scratches you described...

seem a bit more...I would stick with the instructions..I did such and very successfully removed two scratches from AMULETT. But key is clean clothes in application and buffing...also avoid washing any polishing cloth with any other items...separate wash.

Jeff, what product did you buy? Also how pronounced are the scratches?
