Default MiDnIgHt PoLl: How ya like the EBC green stuff? Be honest.

I want to hear about squeaks, squeals, cost to install professionally and support from EBC. And dust! Is it gone, or is it just green now?

I helped start this mess, now I am ready to get some! (pads)

I haven't done my little upgrade this quarter yet for my TT.

I am serious, thanks for your responses, ya'll.

Default I'd also like to know who painted their EBC greens and what did they use?

I'm also thinking of painting my callipers when I do mine.

Sorry to jump into your poll without an answer, but I'm waiting for mine to come next week.

Default Love them. Better braking, and less dust. Dust isn't eliminated, but it is significantly reduced....

I have EBCs on the front and Mintex on the rear but I'm switching to EBCs all around. Michael has them on front and rear and has been tracking rotor wear. Due to positive results I'm switching over. Michael has no squeaking, but I do with my Mintex.... (Oh, and no, the dust isn't green with the EBCs.) Easy do-it-yourself (or with your garage buddy) install.

Default Absolutely no complaints...(more)...

-75%+ less dust in sport type driving and 90% less in normal driving
-Champfering edges of pads and using CRC Anti Squeal/Brake Pad Adhesive eliminated any squealing (I installed one set of EBCs on 225TTR's car without doing and one set on my 225TTC doing as described...TTR slight squealing at low...creeping...speeds and no squealing on TTC). Some have posted that they did not use the brake pad adhesive at all and had no squealing
-Noticeable increase in braking power...EBC have a much higher friction factor than stock (.25 vs .46 for the EBC)
-Rotor wear...I have been micrometering the rotors on my 225...posting results on our TT website...at this stage I am finding no unusal wear...rotors are looking great...will be posting new data shortly (micing every 1000 miles)

In my OPINION, bottomline the EBC do as advertised, I like the brakes and only concern was accelerated rotor wear...which appears at this point to be a non-issue.

Default OcTTober...will get back to you with exact manufacturer but...

it is a special brake caliper/pad paint, cost a damn fortune at $22 per 4 oz spray can (one can does 2 calipers)BUT is THE paint for these type of application. Comes in red, blue and yellow...maybe more.

Default This is what I did. Used std. Hi-temp paint, after 5K miles, it's working fine

My pages don't describe in detail the way that MichaelTT does, but the points are there.

EBC Pad Install

Default Michael, a couple of more questions...

1. Did you paint both your calipers and the outer pads or just the pads? The photo on your site shows just the pads painted?

2. If you painted your calipers, did you do that on the car? Yikes!!

3. Where did you get the caliper paint?
