Default Mobile 1 - what weight for 225TTR?

The manual says 5W-40. The dealer says 10W is OK. I can't find 5W-40 around here (Northern Va/Mont. Cty, MD--any ideas).
I take it in for service tomorrow (Thursday). Any suggestions?

My Dealer (Clair in Boston) put in 10W-30 ---- aprox. $14 charge. IMHO - Boston is probably as far north as you would want to go with 10W-30 - 5W-40 (at least in winter) would be my preference. 10W-30 should be fine in VA.

How much of a difference is there between 10w-30 and 5w-30?

Default Mobile has a Mobile 1 website with

tech specs for different weights of their oil. You will find that the specs for high and low temperature are far superior to any conventional oil. 15W40 or 50 mobile 1 flows better at low temps than 5W30 conventional oil. I use 5W30 in my Suburban year round and will probably put the same in my TT.
