Default Mod for auto-turn off headlights?

Hi All,

Not sure if my TT is just defective this way, but with a luxury-level sports car, I had expected at least some of the same convenience features (some may call them idiot features, but...) as my Toyota Camry. One being some sort of sound to tell me my lights are still on, or even better, they shut off if I forget to turn them off - like when I leave for work in the dark and arrive in the light. I've had to get a jump three times in the last 6 months, and the last was the worst, as my jumper cables were in the trunk with a completely dead battery - Doh! Do I have a problem (other than obviously forgetting to turn off the lights) or is there some sort of mod out there to do this?

Thanks,

Trev

Same here. I dont understand why Audi couldn't go the extra step and turn the parking off too.

Default Xenons turn off with the key, as they draw too much power to run without the alternator. Halogens

stay on.

Because they are PARKING LIGHTS. Last I checked most people don't leave the key in when PARKED.

FYI, there's a pull cord in the compartment behind the pass seat to pop the trunk.

Default Are you certain of that?

Even my 1982 Jetta kills the headlights with the ignition off. Seems odd they would change the behavior based on the headlight option installed.

Default Never saw a reason to leave them ON when parked. More of a running light.

Should turn off when car is off. They wear the battery out too.

Pretty sure the reflectors are there to show oncoming traffic that you are parked there.

why the SMART *** comments?

Default Seen that advt where the Audi slides into the parking space?

Maybe Audis are for people who can park themselves AND turn off their own lights :-)

However, I will admit that I leave the lights on auto on my daily driver Tundra and on wife's A6. I have to be careful with the TT as I'm forming lazy habits.
