MODSHACK: Forge DVR Review

Steve, it's funny, because a great analogy can be drawn with diving regulators. With 1st stages,
the most expensive and most comfortable are the balanced piston type regulators, but they are also more complicated. Their advantage is that they breathe with the same effort regardless of depth, unlike an unbalanced 1st stage. There is very little performance difference between and unbalanced piston and diaphragm 1st stage.
While I dive with a balanced piston as my primary 1st stage, my back-up is a diapragm type, as they are a bit more reliable, mainly because of fewer moving parts :-)

Great review. You answered my question. Do ya have to be
a serious racer for this to be a good option....thanks Steve. Doubt I'll get one immediately, but it's nice to have an opinion on everyday fun driving. I had such a nice fun drive to work through Bruce Park this morning (I was late and there was not traffic) that I actually knocked my briefcase off the handyhook going through the twisties....must remember to be late more often ;-D Red, yep, I need red ...hmmm, that would mean no more stealth black for Audi techs, lol.

LOL......You should..>>
Strap that baby down oh frisky one! The Valve is so smooth it's invisible. The race nomenclature came, I'm sure, from it's fast reaction time. There's a long story about why it was never imported........Has to do with a previous partner....er, you know.....

I got one of these when I got the 007P . . .
From what I was told the diaghram will only hold up for about 5,000 miles. As I said, this is what I was TOLD. I never put it into the car as I didn't want to take out the 007P I liked it so much. At the time I didn't have the time to swap DV's and run tests . . .
So I have one unused in a box in my garage, along with a 006 . . .

Re: Greddy......>>
Steve when you set up your new Greddy due it reversed, with the piston face facing boost. Looks like it will fit pretty well down there, with the adjustment screw easy to get to. Also make sure you take it apart and have a look at true quality.
So did Forge give you that thing? ;-)

That was the plan....>>
(on the orientation)... Saw your pics and figured that was the hot set-up with this valve. You need adjustability to do it that way I think. On the Forge, let's say my notoriety over here peaked their interest...!!
