Looks like the little **** is going to work! Despite my limited machining experience (as in NONE), these seem to be coming together nicely. Here's the first experimental "Blank" I tried as a run through. They oughta get nicer from here:

Some detail:

The tube will be turned on the intake hose side to perfectly mate with the 180 hose. Back side will be 3" to mate with the TTDA without the adapter sleeve used now:

Here's a mock-up before the tube gets shortened. Basically they will look like this:

Thanks to RoberTT's Tireless testing, and the USPS for shuttling the prototype back and forth, we've optimized the ID precisely for the 4 bar FPR. Adaptation is within 2% of "0" which is better than stock.
This has been a long and interesting project. Pricing, due to the Numerous labor ops, time needed, and Tooling investment made will be $125 shipped, $180 (slick eh?) with a 4 bar. Several forumites are already in line, the rest of you will have to queue up. Depending on demand, the initial units will get cranked out over the next 2 weeks or so. Aluminum and $1000 worth of FPR's arrive in the next day or so, and I have a slug of housings ready. Paypal to you know where gets you on the build list..
Thanks for the patience on this one!
Steve

for instance, the wife's 150 hp Passat? Or would the diameter's need to be re-engineered for each application?

Have youseen where the MAF's are in those? Inside the airbox! VW's and 180's have some different ECU parameters that make them tougher to work with. I'll need to find a VW guy that wants to experiment (RoberTT has some buddies), but I can say the Passat is probably not in the picture...
