Default ModShack TTuned in Madrid (Spain) !!! + impressions & questions >>>

Hello everybody !

First of all I want to thank Mr. Steve Schwing !!!! you are the greatest indeed! ...yesterday my BAMM arrived after flying all the way through the Atlantic & today I decided to install it & give it a try ....

As you can see in the pics I know have the whole enchilada ... Dahlback manifold+TTDA+BAMM+BM+adjustable fpr & Oettinger chip can make things go crazy ...

But after testing I have some doubts I want to share.... (after putting the BAMM I made a throttle body adjustment & then went for a ride) :

1.- Firstly what I noticed was that the 1st gear almost doesnīt exist !!!! it takes no time for the 1st to go up all the way through the rpm dial !
2.- Power seems to be there but boost just doesnīt look like building up like before. However my G-Tech Pro Competition runs tell me that thepunch is indeed there & better than my last runs ...later I will put my reading results..
3.- However, while looking at my boost gauges it looks like the boost has decreased form previous runs, it looks like the turbo canīt maintan boost at top revs like it did before..Is this normal or do I need to readjust the Boost Machine? is the whole intake system I made for myself too much for the 225 K04 turbo (I donīt think so..)
4.- I adjusted the fpr up to 3.8 bar and I noticed that the A/F gauge was almost a little bit over stoich range whe doing full throttle. Because of this the motor felt much hotter than before ... so I believe at least I need to set the fpr just above 4 bar. Do people think 4 bar is right or a bit of an overkill?

Sorry for this long story . I hope you like the reading & pics ... please donīt doubt to ask me anything you like & would appreciate if you could give me your impressions.

Cheers from abroad & thanks for making it this long

Robo

Default Cool Robo!

Thanks BTW....
You probably need to adjust up to 4 bar to handle the BAMM...Also give it a little time to adapt. You've changed air and fueling and the adaptation tables need to be re-built. You could do an ECU reset to speed things along!

Ust the Boost machine to tweek thing back to where they were after adaptation is complete...

You should be good to go!

Steve

Nice sig BTW.....:-)

Default Nice....>>>

first off...you definitely need the 4bar min...no experience with an adjustable FPR...but i have a 4bar installed and its just right...

second..you will absolutely need to re-adjust the BM...depending on your car, you may see as many as 5 turns now on the regulator to get to 23psi or so...which is the max i am running right now.

Lastly..it may take your ECU a few miles/klicks to fully adapt to the BAMM...resetting it allows adaptation to take place quicker....

Now go out and suprise some other TT's in Spain!

Default He he he he ...thanks a lot Steve .. will reset the ECU like you people recommend >>>>

also I made a 30 kms ride to test the car but I guess it needs even more time if new maps are to be registered

Also I forgot to mention I have installed the N75J .. I believe I should get rid of it & install the OEM right? what kind of interference does the J make when runnin a boost machine? I see no spiking nor surging on the car ....

Maybe Iīll put the fpr up to 4.2 bar .. cheers for the help !

Robo

Default I have noticed that if I open the regulator too much >>>

the car canīt make it up well enough to the upper revs ... why can this be? maybe because of the N75J I have installed? .. could it be a kind o soft limp mode ? I had tha valve opened 4 1/2 and started to have this problem so I had to close a bit the regulator to achieve more boost .. any ideas ?

BTW while doing Vag Com readings my actual boost measured is way more than the boost required by the ECU .. I donīhit limp but I donīt know if this is OK or should I try to put both pressures closer together?

Cheers for the answers!

Robo

Default hmmmm.....>>>>

you may be running into a little issue with the Boost Machine and N75k...the BM works best with a STOCK N75...the others are too "spikey" and can create a soft limp mode.
What kinda pressure you showing for boost in the car and on VAG???

Default you would be around 9psi or .75 or so Bar if you were in soft limp>>>

think N75 now....if you still have your stock one..put it back in and give it a try.
