Are those vented or vent-free? If they are vented, do they radiate any heat?

I'm trying to decide if I want to go gas log. But I don't want the vent-free kind. I know the old school vented logs didn't do much in the way of heat. But i've read the newer ones are comperable to real wood as far as heat goes. Just wondering what you've got there and what you're experience has been. Thanks!

I agonized about this too when we were looking. We had some old POS fakes that came with the house that we rarely turned on cause they looked so bad. Decided, for realism, the vented was the way to go. These are Peterson "Real-Fyre" logs and we've been really happy with them. They are fed with Propane. I just crack the damper a little and they put a nice amount of heat into the room. My wife and I heated with wood for 7 years (when we were younger), Cut, Hauled, stacked etc.....I don't wanna do that again!

This came from http://www.homier.com but lots of places (Harbor Freight, Grizzly, etc) sell the exact same thing. Low end, inexpensive, but adequate for my needs at this point!
