Autobild says that it will have an aluminum body and will be built out of the old A2 factory and no longer in Hungary (which will now build the Pikes Peak). It will be offered 150-300hp (150 not offered in the U.S.). It will get the new grill and will be released September 2005 at the Frankfurt International Auto Show. They said that this is a mule with the new Golf V chassis. Interesting news! The use of aluminum means the price will more than likely rise!!!

... Pikes Peak built in Gyor? Nope. Try Brataslava. Not Hungary, Slovokia. But it's all Eastern Europe so who cares, right?
280HP max, not 300HP. Blame Euro4 emissions.

there still seems a bit of a corporate differing on the issue of a new body style or an evolved style based on the Freeman Thomas designed TT...issue appears not resolved as of yet but one thing confirmed is will be on a new platform that will accomodate a much higher output engine...smells like (finally) a true 'S' variant of the TT in the making....

I feel much better now :-)
We've seen pics like this before. I recall one of a black coupe around 2 years ago that looked almost exactly the same (down to the silver line near the rear arch) but nothing more than the 3.2 came of it. Talk then was of wider stance, longer wheelbase, etc.
