Default That car looks ready for production...

A couple of observations, it has been said that a coupe version of the A6 was on the way, this may be it or perhaps it is an A8 category coupe.
The 5L V-10 is Audi's answer to the upcoming V-10 M5 from BMW, so look for this engine in the next S8, since Len Hunt said the next S8 would surprise everybody.

Default From what I hear.........

This is the engine for the next generation RS6 although output may be toned down a bit and the next generation S8 will have the normally aspirated version of the V-10 or the twin-turbo version of the W12 that is in the Bentley going into the next S8. IF that doesn't occur - look for the 500hp twin turbo from the Pikes Peak concept going into the next RS6.

Default I wonder why the V10 and not a W10...I would have thought that they would want to showcase their

W-block engine technology in a car like this. Maybe the W-designs aren't as good as they say.

Default It's interesting to see how short the front overhang is...

Has Audi finally gotten away from putting the engine out in front of the axle? Better weight distribution, quattro and 600hp sounds pretty sweet.

Default It's supposedly a new transmission design which allows

it to be placed farther forward. Haven't seen technical details but it looks like they are utilizing it on this concept.

Default It's due primarily to cost..........the W8 proved to be very expensive

to put into production and basically been shelved. The new V10's shared development costs with the new V10 TDI that VAG developed. It was also the type of engine necessary for the new Gallardo - vs the W engine layout.

Default Hopefully Jason will get more info on the concept......

there have been alot of rumors on Torsen2 which is much lighter in weight but nothing more than that. This is the first view of the new A6 though :-)
