makes me kinda more wonder if the feeds are even worthwhile at all...

Default Then are running such feeds even

worthwhile? Have you tried to see what pressure would be (and temps) across a short run TTDA.. or a filter with heatshield?

Default I think to the extent that they (or it, in my case) bring in cooler air, they are, >

but I admit, I am not a fluid engineer. There must be a trade-off between the distance they run (in terms of drag and turbulence, and if they are not forced, there may even be some negative draw at the intake end at speed) and the relative temperature difference in terms of the performance they provide.

Default and while I'm on that subject, one would think that a larger diameter >

would function more efficiently than the equivalent area of smaller ones. Think if you had ten or twenty, say, small tubes, equalling the area of the one larger one.
