My key fell apart last night ...
FYI ... I had this key for about four years.
Tough to describe, but a fracture was in the "key" part of the fob - at the bottom end near the pin mechanism. With the fracture, the pin became loose and the "long" segment of the key came loose from the body of the key.
I'm using the second key that was part of the car, but was wondering if anybody else had their key fall apart?

I have an M-B key that fell apart... it's about 7 years old and just broke apart and died..
Not able to function even with new battery. Yes, I guess they do die. But no fracture though.
