TT should stand for `Totally Together".
For me it all started with Asheville. My intent on attending was initially very personal and I had only found this forum several weeks earlier. I was truly a NOOB.
I wanted to mod my TT, but wanted to hear, feel, and see before doing. After a long drive from Chicago I pull up to the Holiday Inn in Asheville and see these gorgeous blue and red TT's. They belonged to the most helpful and most professional TTer's - Steve and Michael. Those cars, along with others were truly inspiring.

Next to my hotel room were a bunch of loud Canadians that knocked on my door and handed me beer. Who could have been nicer than Stan? After many beers everyone was really nice.
Here's Stan:

Speaking of mods; I got rides, I got looks under the hood and inside, I got good advice, and one of the first masterpieces of electrical work by Jeff for an iPod install.
While driving the `Tail of the Dragon' in my 10 month old TT I found myself, while maneuring? a curve where a creek passed under the road, I found my TT jump sideways and I was now looking straight down the creek and my heart about to jump out of me.

There was this sweet lady named Kim, passing out Krispy Kreme donuts to whomever was there. After several years I'm not sure how sweet and innocent she is, but she was that day.
Michael has now gotten an Elise, Stan drives a Boxster, Kim drives a ???? and lives over on the other forum - Steve and Jeff are still helping even more than they did then. I now have spent about $25K in all kinds of mods since then. I just call it `Fun Money' and the best time spent owning any car.
It all really started with TT-East. I don't know if I will be able to make it this year, but I highly recommend the event and the people, plus lots of very nice TT's in all kinds of make-up.

I had fun on the dragon and have been back many times. I still remember the tree that was down and how several of us went back the LONG way through I-40 at speeds close to if not over 100mph. Great memories.
The car has seen many mods and miles and I have met many more friends.
This will be my 4th TT-East and I can't wait...:-)

a real highlight. The group photo from the Biltmore still hangs in my office. Had not been back since due to work and family committments - but will be making my hotel reservations in Chattanooga soon!

- Becoming one of Chicago 11
- Having TT loaded on flatbed on 1st night in Cumberland.
- Locking keys in TT just prior to moving cars for group picture at TT-Midwest.
Funniest thought comes from watching Steve and others drink beer and install Stoptechs on Chris's car. I'm thinking do I really want to drive a car that's been worked on while the workers drink.
Having worked in the corporate world for 27 years I have been to some pretty fancy events. The organizers of TT-East can surely hold their own against the best event organizers.
