and is taking everything apart again to check it out.

The issue actually was just that the parking bulb was burnt out...

[just got home, sorry for the delayed response]

The tech (independent shop) thought the "bulb that wasn't attached to anything" was strange but didn't think it was the parking bulb (and he wasn't looking at the functioning assembly while it was taken apart to recognize it was two separate bulbs.

Once I told the tech that the bulb was wired internally to the housing he just put in a new one and sheepishly told me that everything was done.

He gave me a break on all the other work he did for me - switching out the housings with the titanium grey ones and the installing Steve's fresh air feeds so it was worth the slight aggrevation and drama... Charged me two hours labor which seemed like a good deal to me.

Thanks all - TT Forum members to the rescue! It was great being on line while at the shop.

Common mistake. No one seems to realize it's a 2 bulb assembly.

Default How about the Bently "caution" to disconect battery

to change parking light?
Is this really necessary? I can see it with signal light assembly for the HID voltage but parking light am I missing somthing?

who worked on my car today didn't disconnect the battery once thoughout the entire process...
