I know that people have done this on vortex along with SAI and PCV delete. I don't want to go that far but after swapping plugs twice this week and looking at how the N249 is plumbed in I was wondering just how necessary it is. It seems you should be able to run the DV straight off of the manifold. Would this cause any problems for the ECU or any downside for the turbo itself?

honestly don't remember what you do to avoid the CEL.
I agree with you - after changing the plugs last night. Should be a better place for it!

I was more concerned about when the ECU uses it as a safety valve and if it is a situation I would hit frequently and if I do hit it would I be able to detect it just with the boost gauge.

But hey, What teh heck...Take out the N75 too, Diode your MAP and TB and you'll be totally in the wind. Blowing up things over on the Tex seems to be a competitive sport..

be that hard. The issue is extending the wiring harness to the N24 - the other stuff should be easy to move. Now the question is - where.

It only comes into play when something is wrong. Otherwise it has no impact on the running of the car. It effectively invisible if your car is up to snuff and well maintained. If something DOES go wrong...Bad gas, failed sensor etc...Something that would tell the ECU to reduce boost to protect the engine, and the N249 is not there......
Well..envision burned valves, Holed pistons elevated exhaust temps etc. that could happen (VERY quickly) as a result of no safety systems in place...It is there for a reason afterall
Why not relocate it? It was such a minor, occasional PITA to me that that never became a priority

have it out of the way - both from a plug change and check perspective as well as aesthetically. I might even PC my valve cover if it wasn't on top :-)
