Need to drain and refill coolant, what's the best way and how much coolant/water is needed?

If you put the wrong kind in it can turn to sludge. I think the best advice is if you need to top it off only use distilled water then get it to a dealer who knows exactly what they are doing.

Capacity: 7.4 quarts.
Mixture ratio:
Frost protection to -25C
Coolant additive G 012 A8 D approx. 40%
Water approx. 60%
Frost protection to -35C
Coolant additive G 012 A8 D approx. 50%
Water approx. 50%
Frost protection to -40C
Coolant additive G 012 A8 D approx. 60%
Water approx. 40%
Notes:
If the fluid in the expansion tank is brown, this means that G 012 A8 D has been mixed with another type of coolant. In this case, flush out the cooling system and put in new coolant (repair measure). To flush the system, fill it with clean water and run the engine for about 2 minutes. This should remove practically all of the old coolant.

on Friday. I am NOT even close to being mechanically inclined, but I did it AND changed the thermostat...without extra parts.
The early adive is correct, however, I'd like to add one thing...When draining the coolant, refill with water and redrain until there is no pink in the fluid coming out.
I have read a lot here about temperature flucuations and mine was doing that as well. After I did this, the temp is pegged right at the center mark.
