Default Need help with 5 spoke wheel question.

I've noticed that there are two versions of the 5 spoke wheels on the TT. Both are indented in the center, but on one the indented portion is much smaller than the other version. Anyone know which wheels come with which cars? Is it a build date issue?

Default To expand on Cliff's and Steve's comments...

The "larger indentation" 5 spoke wheel is 17", and is the wheel you will receive if you order a 225 hp TT (coupe or roadster). The "smaller indentation" 5 spoke wheel, is 16" and is Audi's standard wheel, that is standard with the 180 hp TTs (coupe and roadster). The 6 spoke wheel is 17", and can be ordered as an option on the 180 hp TTs (coupe and roadster).

Here in the USA, you cannot order the 17" 6 spoke for the 225s USA or the 17" 5 spoke for the 180s, though recently in Europe Audi was offering the 17" 6 spokes on the 225s. Confused yet?

Default Same wheel I got on our new 225 TTQ Coupe...

...has a different finish (glossier) than the other 16" and 17" wheels (matt) offered before. Like them a lot.

Just a preference comment...when I picked up my 225QC with the prem package there was a 2000TT with the six spoke wheels on the lot...I like the 5 spokes better...the center is 'cleaner' design wise.
2001 Amulet Red 225TTQC

Default Also, the 5 spoke 17" alloys...

Are lighter and don't protrude the way the 6 spoke 17" alloys do, making them less vulnerable to damage. No, I don't know the exact weight difference, though I did call Audi. They didn't have that information.

I've got a picture on my site with the three
major US-available wheels: the stock 180 5 spokes,
the upgrade 180 6 spokers, and the 225 5 spokers.
