Need help diagnosing a suspension "ping" (A little wordy but I would appreciate any help)
It's actually more like a deep metallic pong in the front, seems to be more toward the passenger side. It occurs occasionally over bumps and always when the right front wheel is unweighted, like when going into my driveway at an angle. I just noticed it tonight. I bottomed out the suspension today, koni coilovers, on a construction transition from asphalt to newly grated road bed, NO F'ING SIGNS! Didn't notice anything wrong until I had to run errands later tonight. I can get it to "pong" when I steer back-and-forth while driving. I haven't been able to get under the car yet to see if anything is loose or broken.
Does anyone have any preliminary thoughts? I appreciate any help.
Thanks, Chris

You probably crushed a Bearing/Bushing...>>>
The ones in the strut towers that the top of the shock mounts to. No need to look under the car, just pop the hood. If the bad side is a lot higher than the good side, that's it. Parts are cheap......$35 or so to renew both sides

Here's a write-up...

interesting...i have a similar issue
but the noise i hear sounds like it's coming from the back. it happens if I make a right turn into a driveway with a curb. I believe it's the rear spring coming unseated...i adjusted it once and the noise went away (temporarily).
how would your passenger side front wheel be unweighted when you pull into your driveway?

I guess it would be "less-weighted". I have to back in at an angle so when the
driver's side is compressed on the curb cut, and the rear wheels are already in the driveway, the front passenger side has to compensate. That's when I notice the sound.

i'm having a hard time picturing the situation
i'd be interested to see what you find once you look at the front/rear suspension components. please post in this thread or a new thread what fixes the problem! thanks.
