Default NEED HELP! sometimes car does not turn over >>

situation is:
new optima battery (5 months old)

if i turn accessories on everything fires up fine. lights, horn is loud, stereo is fine. so i'm ruling out the battery.

when i turn it to ignition sometimes it starts fine. sometimes i get nothing. no solenoid click, no starter turning.... nothing. sometimes i get the solenoid click... but not starter turning. after the 3rd or 4th try if i hold the ignition on long enough it will just start.

it's hit or miss and it's hard to tell if it's climate dependent. thoughts?

could it be the cylinder ring trying to read your key code?

Default Don't rule out the battery just because the accessories work>>

trust me. I've made that mistake before. Since the battery is new, I'd say check the terminals first and make sure they're clean and tight.

Default Check the clutch safety switch. It is the one that >>

senses the clutch being fully pressed to enable the starter. It may be loose or bad.
