Default NEED NEW ENGINE - ANYONE REPLACED 180FWD WITH 225 ENGINE

My TT has a blown engine. Instead of putting in another 180 lump I have been offered a full 225 engine including 2 intercoolers, turbo, dials and ecu for a good price.

Implications of 225 going through the front wheels is the problem. Has anyone done this???

Any advice appreciated.

a 225 exhaust not hard to find, but there may be fitment issues.

Default The hardest part would be the tranny hookup. It can be done tho because there

is a guy on VWVortex who transplanted a 225 engine in his Golf.

His nickname on VWVortex is Gary H. He has a great website too but I dont remember the URL

Default I think there would be major fitment issues w/ the exhaust.

I bet it can't be done unless you plumb it to the OEM 180 FWD exhaust.

Could I just leave the exhaust as it is?

Default I think you'd be better off going with a custom job as Rob suggested below.

I think the stock 180 exhaust would be a little too restrictie on the 225 engine & turbo.

Default OK- what if I put a 180 lump in no chip and then a KO4 turbo

Would the performance be close to a 225???
