Need some input on braking "balance" and thoughts on brake kits in general.

Thanks for your input on this, hoping for a healthy discussion here. I've worn out the archives, and 3 headaches later still am a bit unclear. Thanks to STTickman and others that have helped out already.
Would like a kit for upcoming events, considering Stop-Tech, ECS's 993 kit +/- rears (or maybe just drilled Zimmerman/OEM rears), Wilwood, etc.
Stasis and AP racing look very nice, but not for almost $1k *more* than the already expensive kits above.
I understand that there is this concept of "balance" and am trying to research this to do it right, but there's a lot of propaganda out there.
I know that you all like your big brake kits, so I don't really need testimonials, and they're probably all good kits; I'm just maybe hoping for more examples of braking balance and what that means. (I have read about it and understand the basic concept). Anything beyond 120-0 stops on the track affected? It all seems very theoretical to me at this point.
Would be adding to a 225Q, spring/shock sport suspension, 15/20 spacers, ALMS wheels (with 17" replicas for snows), neuspeed bar.
I can't emphasize enough how much I appreciate your help, thanks!

is pretty much a cosmetic mod. Some benefits in cooling and a little weight reduction, but same calipers used, same clamping forces, same pad area...
As to proportioning valves, I doubt there's a real race car in existence that doesn't use that system...

and besides, like Steve says, stock calipers, slightly larger rotor is going to throw off the bias? It will, only if you use stock caliper in the front...but with any 4-piston caliper and larger rotor, I highly doubt it. In fact, I feel that it should actually be better biased...isn't current OEM setup close to 90% up front?

Now, I hate physics, but I think it somehow affects clamping force. Probably not enough to do much in the real world, and I agree, it's mostly cosmetic. I still might go for this. If this "balance" is that important, it's just surprising to me that no one's really addressed this with a balanced kit. I know it's a complicated measuring process, but all the more reason why I don't want to have to do it...
